OK, this mta 1.1 is really raping my link... it's not constant, but when the map changes now, my net stops entirely, even name lookups, for about 30 seconds... it's getting annoying really fast.

I've asked rcdarkangel if it's ok to switch the (unused) au fdm samp server to mta or perhaps even just add it.. yet to receive a response, but am also researching different providers for VPSs - web24 seem cheap but their bandwidth charges are a catch.. serverffs seem ok but you end up paying $50/month which leads to the fact there's quite a few at that price point - iinet's offering seems pretty good at that rate, too - $50 for 100GB traffic and a decent hardware spec.

*EDIT* I've just changed my internet plan to iinet home 2 which is $30 less, but the same limits, no static IP.. and bought and iinet VPS2 for $50 a month - 1GB RAM/2GHz CPU/30GB Storage/100GB Traffic/1 Static IP/Linux.

So for an extra $20 a month, DRuG now has a VPS running on iinet.. I'll start it out on 32 players and see how we go with the bandwidth. More news as it goes online. In the short term I have moved it to rcdarkangels server... that will settle my link down in the meantime.

Not often I make an update these days - site is mainly still up for historical purposes but I was on last night removing someone's details at their request and decided to ban a spammer.

Not sure what happened, maybe they had a weird IP saved or something, but once I hit ban, nobody *even admin* could log in - just this message

In case I have to fix it again, the tradition is I post the solution here, in case it helps someone else or at very least future me.

1. removed all recent IP bans directly from banlist in database
2. tested - still same error
3. remembered phpbb caches everything in it's database, so changes don't always appear immediately.
4. bust brain on how I can purge cache while locked out of the board - button is in admin panel, requiring login
5. google it & find a page on phpbb forums
6. Make afile.php with code in it as follows:

7. Open it in browser - it says "Done"
8. Fixed! board lets us back in again.

yeah, been playing a lot of FF7remake on ps4, and alot of ps4 games actually.
Mr Greens is where i race on here as well, and SiK i guess.
MTA is quite empty these days *sigh*
I take it the DRuG MTA server is long gone?

We were formed the day before my birthday way back on November 2nd, 2003.

This brings DRuG to the ripe old age of 16.

Stay tuned for a proper birthday post... with PHP being updated, many may have noticed the member list and downloads areas on drugcrew.com were broken.
