RESOLVED: MTA Outage today

For about the last 12 months they've been building next door... today, during the day, they cut and restored the power, tripping the surge protector in my fuse box & killing an almost new Corsair HX750W PSU in my gaming rig.

Upon returning home, I was faced with replacing the PSU & putting my rig back together, then bringing the MTA server back up.. all's done now except a trip to MSY to get this thing replaced.. I guess I better call first - they might send me straight to Corsair or something.

Lucky for me I still had a 430W Thermaltake PSU with 2 PCIe connectors (1 via 2 x molex <> 1 x PCIe).

Turns out when you go to the tech support page at Corsair.com it takes you through some troubleshooting steps, then led me straight to a form where I filled out details that will go on a courier docket they're gonna send me.

More info as it emerges, so far their support technique seems pretty coo.

if it turns out corsair denies you warranty on some basis (no surge protector or some bs) you could probably hold the electricians liable, as it seems they were "working live" if they tripped your breakers. Working live is illegal, and they could have their electrical licence pulled, if energex(or insert your dominant electrical supplier here) found out about it.
