I think you'll find the general idea is true, though in true television style "Results May Vary"

(ok that was funnier in my head, but hopefully someone might get the weak link)

New Laptop FINALLY!!!

Postby [DRuG]Widgit on Tue Feb 12, 2008 1:27 am

Guess who just got her new laptop!?
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
It's nothing fancy, but I'm so damn excited!

ASUS A8SC SANTA ROSA
ASUS_A8SC_515484.JPG
ASUS_A8SC_515484.JPG (6.75 KiB) Viewed 11843 times

Processor:
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7259 (2.0GHz, 4MB L2 Cache, 800Mhz FSB)

Graphics:
Nvidia® 8400M G 128MB dedicated (384Mb TurboCache™),

Hard drive:
160GB SATA HD (5400 rpm)

Memory:
2GB DDR2 667 SDRAM (upped to 3GB!)

Display:
14" (WXGA) Color Shine (Sooo crisp and clear it made my eyes hurt at first!)

Operating System:
Vista™ Home Premium (Not too sure about this yet)

Other Stuff:
2 year warranty, Bluetooth, 4-in-1 Reader, Web Camera and built in Mic, 5 x USB, FireWire, Wireless, Fast Ethernet, Express Card slot, DL DVD+/-R/W, D/H/W = 245/34.8 - 37.3/335 mm, Weight 2.39 kg
Free Carry Bag and Mouse. +Plus a USB DIGITAL AND HD TV TUNER

I'm a bit dubious about this Vista thing, it takes a bit of getting used to. I've loaded on most of my sims games, and I loaded GTA:SA, but I've yet to download any of the multiplayer mods as I'm not sure what's changed since I've been out of the picture and what's compatable with Vista!

MTA:DM should be compatible with Vista, but not MTA:Race. Btw, nice laptop there, maybe I'll get another one a few years down the track :D

Awesome Awesome Awesome.

Glad to have you back beyond 2000, Widget.

Can I suggest you do what I did when I got my new Asus laptop (very similar to yours), and wipe it blank, install windows XP on it (after first downloading all the drivers using vista - I wished I had done this first), then keep you recovery disk stored away for when MTA 1.1.1 race is no longer required, since MTA:DM still only supports keyboard, no gamepad... and lots still race in 1.1.1.

This all assumes, of course, you wanna race in MTA... otherwise, stay on vista.. everything else should work except MTA race 1.1.1.

:)

http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/2706/computerkl7.jpg
(It ruins your lovely layout if I use the IMG codes)

Cooler Master Stacker 832 case
120mm Scythe blue LED fan
Blue 12" dual cold cathode kit (I felt like ricing a case up for once)
Corsair HX-620 power supply
ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus motherboard
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 processor
2Gb Corsair DDR2-675 XMS2 RAM (dual channeled)
ASUS EN8800GTS graphics card
2x 320Gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 SATAII hard disk drives (in RAID 0)
Pioneer 110D DVD burner
LaCie 500Gb external hard drive (for backing up ;))
Logitech MX1000 mouse (tragedy they stopped making these, or it will be if I ever have to replace it)
Razer Lycosa keyboard
ViewSonic VX2025WM monitor
Logitech Z-2300 speakers (sooo worth it!)
Sennheiser PC-140 headset
And I use a piece of plastic out of the bottom of one of those green Woolworths bags for a mousepad :D

It does the job.

Thus brings forth the revelation of the apocalypse... What man has made... We will destroy
