I've just added lastRSS, another module for phpBB.

This one allows us to have the latest news items rss feeds from drugcrew.com and the drug transit web listed at the bottom of the forums. This should be handy for alerting people to our other sites if they happen to only find us through the forums for some reason.

"Page loads" statistic added to the board index statistics section down the bottom... was a module I found by Barry Carlyon.. it only needed one sql field added.. so the figures are start at 0 today, since this new database field was introduced today.

As with the Arcade, lastRSS and any other module I install, edits are required to every single skin on the board.

Once again, the Acidtech series of skins failed dismally.. they seem to have fixed columns in which the fields are displayed, and are controlled by a variable I cannot find being set... such that, even though the syntax to display the stuff is there, it just doesn't translate into the html sent to the browser... it's like it totally ignores what's been added by the new module. Note this only happens with the Acidtech line of styles for the site.. so I'm thinking seriously of deleting them when I find some that are nicer.. shouldn't be too hard.

So yeh... check out the board index, and down the bottom you'll now find something to the effect of:

I'll be adding more features as I can be bothered & find ones that are useful.. if you find anything cool, let me know, but please don't nag me on installing, I like to take these installs at my own pace because I am editing the site files live, mostly without backup, and it requires concentration not to screw up.. you will note from the fact we've never lost data, that in general I don't mess up, so don't fret when you read this.

OK, now I've added the Photo Gallery 0.1.0 module to the forums... accessible in the top corner next to the user control panel. It's still very early in development, so unfortunately only works well with the prosilver style, which the author has it locked to.

I've left it that way, such that, only when you're in the gallery you'll be switched to the prosilver theme.. then switched back again to your preferred theme when you return to the forums.

This also introduces new bbcode, so we can use photos from the gallery as references in our posts..

I know it has a few issues, like the way it moves to the board index after image uploads, but I expect this will improve as updated releases emerge. I'm working on the style sheet but I doubt I'll be able to sort it, since about 4 separate style sheets are referenced, nested, within the gallery.. I've tried once, just now, to work it out, but got very lost trying to get the images flowing right in the SimpleDarkBlue style.

***update*** this module has proven to have quite a few 0.1.0 issues, which the author acknowledges and expects finished within a few weeks. The main problem I am noticing is when you advance past 10 images, the new ones keep appearing, but the old ones vanish off the end and aren't displayed.. I'll have to look into that, but for the moment, beware.

Hah! I got the rss links to DRuG transit half working @ least!

Trouble with the transit site is the news.php is an inline frame within index.html.. and with the way lastRSS integrates the news items, it needs the front page to be the news.php, such that it can feed ?item= type stuff to it... I have tweaked it so it now just loads the index.html for each news item, meaning, when people click DRuG Transit in the RSS section, they are now taken there, where previously it would show a messily rendered version of the news frame only, and even then only after a very long wait.

I've added the rss feed for center.mtasa.com, which recently came back to life... they were out of action there for quite some time, to the point alw & DRuG were about to start up an alternative... but it's great to have the original map repository back in action... so their latest maps will now be listed in the rss feeds block on the main index.

Now I understand how to create arrays in php, I will be adding feeds for alw clan and a few others, so keep your eye on the RSS block folks.

Haven't changed modems over yet.. but it's configured and ready to go.

I have it listing the last 5 maps uploaded, updated every 12 hours.. I can increase this to hourly, but it slows down the loading of the board index when it updates the feed, meaning, if you load the page for the first time in that given caching period, you have to wait as it polls the feed... so I think 12 hours is a rational amount.
