well first off a little bit of background, my parents computer got pretty seriously broken, so after exhausting all my knowledge I reinstalled windows, upon doing so I had to also do the usualdriver installation etc. it all ran smoothly till I got to the video card driver, installation worked and all, but in a momentary noob moment I accidentally changed the display resolution higher then the monitor can handle, at which point the monitor turned off. by starting in safe mode I am able to Reset the display resolution to 640x480 at 16bit colours, but it also seems to disable the driver entirely, I can only seem to get the driver going again by reinstalling, at which point it begins running at the same setting I originally set it to, which is too high for the monitor.
I'm not sure how I am going to get it out of this loop, so wondering if anyone could help. Its a Windows 98se thats about 8 years old. (They are buying a laptop soon, but would still like there comp to be useable till then.
