Over the past few months, I have tried & failed at getting players to understand that by having their fps above the locked maximum of 54 fps gives them an unfair advantage.
There are quite a few players that for different reasons, run their game at 80 or 150 FPS - this makes their game smoother, sure, but it also gives them an unfair advantage in races. As a result, today I was beaten by someone with 150fps, on a straight - both with infernus & nos, i was accelerated away from at around double my speed. More frames per second = more movement forward per second... ie. unfair advantage.
As a result, I have modified a pingkicker resource and added the feature of Max FPS kicker - the ping kicker module is disabled however the FPS kicker will kick them.
Some suggestions if you are affected by this:
- Disable/fix any special "turbo", "cool n quiet" or overclocking modifications to your BIOS/motherboard
- The "AMD CPU bug" can cause higher fps - the fix is available at http://support.amd.com....
- Close/uninstall any modifications you have to your game (any that intentionally give advantage are a bannable offense really)
This resource should not be stopped or modified by any other admins on DRuG without the express consent of yours truly, [DRuG]NikT.
Remember if you are affected by this, if you find it annoying, think how annoying it is when your unfair advantage helps you win a race over an honest player's hard work.
