Hitman The Movie

Hitman is a video game available on PC as well as several video game consoles, including Xbox 360, Xbox, PlayStation 2, and GameCube. Now it is being made into a movie, i saw the preview just yesterday and it looks pretty shit. Another popular video game which is being developed into a movie is the halo series which is being directed by Peter Jackson so you can expect some awsome Special Effects.

A few other games which were made into movies:

"Street Fighter"
"Double Dragon"
"Tomb Raider"
"Mortal Kombat"
"Resident Evil"
"Final Fantasy"
"Tekken"
"Doom"
"Super Mario Brothers"
"Pokemon" (which in know way was even wanted)

And theres even speak of a new version of thje street fighter film.

So tell me what are your thoughts on a video games being developed into movies.

Actually the Halo movie is no longer in production, unless unknown to me it got restarted. Basically Peter Jackson requested more funds then the company sponsoring the production wanted to give, and the withdrew their funds.
And I think it depends on the game, I think games developed with the prior intention of creating a movie to perhaps complete the story works, but not just having an afterthought.

Most game-based movies suck pretty bad esp those directed by uwe boll ie Bloodrayne. From the preview, it looke as if all guns and explosions and no stealth (fibre wire), which the hitman game primarily relies upon. From what I've heard its supposed to be better than other game based movies.

Anyway, the only games i'd like to see as movies are Max Payne and Deus Ex

The silent hill movie was a great dissapointment for me.
for some reason i actually thought it would be good.

The first game was awesome.
but the movie is another fine example that holliwood should not tamper with turning games into movies.

Bloodrayne was possibly one of the worst movies I've ever forced myself to sit through. They threw some sex in there willy nilly to try to hold peoples attention, but it had absolutely nothing to do with the plot and was just out of nowhere it just made me confused and weirded out, even more so than I already was.
Sucks because Billy Zane is hot as hell and I only watched it for him.
