The 8600GT is pretty cheap now. You can get it for $100 or less. If you want more power, go for the 9600GT at around $170.

The 9600GT is slightly more expensive than the 8800GS, but is par to par with the 8800GS. The 9600GT wastes less electricity too, so over time it could be worth it :P

9600gt would still be better than sli 8600gt. 9600gt is best value for money atm, as it can be gouth for less than $150. 8800gt is another good choice, though itll be around $200. 8600gt is cheap though, $70-$80, and it can run a lot of games on a 17" screen. ATI's new radeon 4 series will also offer very good value for money, in terms of higher end cards.

BTW grim, it depends on your CPU as well. So no point really getting a really good gfx card, if you have a shitty cpu.

I have a Intel Core 2 CPU 6320 @ 1.86GHz, 1.86Ghz. Reckon that's good enough? o.O

I also wouldn't mind steering away from ATi cards for a bit, wouldn't mind experiencing nVidia sides of things :p

An Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86 GHz would be able to handle GTASA easily. One core alone in that is like a 3.2 GHz Pentium 4 you know.. not to mention how good it could be when used with the second core. GTASA only uses one core though, and that's plenty enough for GTASA.

yeah e6320 is fairly good, way better than mine anway. 9600gt should be ok for most cases, though u may wanna get something more powerful if you have a large screen or you wanna play something very GPU intensive.

Just another questioni, what is you current video card?

A ATi Radeon x300 series (128mb, PCI-e) I seem to be having problems with drivers for it too, normally instant crashes upon loading any of my games. Have made sure everythings up to date for it too but nothing changed, much to the reason I wouldn't mind moving away from ATi

Woah definitely time for an update. Yeah ATI's drivers aren't as goof as Nvidia ones, hence, preventing their cards from utlizing their full potential, though some ATI cards (mainly higher end) do offer very good value for money.
