Knoppix/debian hdd transfer running in text mode only, though it does run X quite well.
This is the mta, teamspeak, ftp, linux shell, web (LAMP), SQL and samp server - it runs @ 0.00 load average.. ie. it's hardly utilized, even when under heavy use.
Running linux, with only the psu's fan and hdd's moving occasionally as noise sources, this box is basically silent, and sits in the lounge where we often sleep & you can't hear it.... I wish PCs didn't need so many fans these days.
Apple PowerBook G4 1000MHz with 500Mb RAM running OSX.. connected via airport extreme internal wireless - this is Zen's laptop (my girlfriend, but I use it a lot in the lounge and to monitor/admin the server).
updated:A wireless router/switch/ADSL2 modem.. (unused: Billion 7404vgp) Netgear D834G, cascading to a 100mbit switch with 2 main PCs, server hangs straight off the router.
