Modem works on my laptop so it's fine but it does say it couldn't detect a network card during an installation on my PC. It said that before many times but all I had to do was reinstall XP and it worked. Now it doesn't work.

Try finding the drivers specifically for your network card. If you need help finding the drivers just tell us the model of the network card.

I don't know my network card driver. Is there a way to find out?

[Dragon]Master is good with computers but average with internet related topics so try to explain it to a 4 year old child.

If I understand correctly, you are connecting your modem via USB, not a network cable? Am I correct?

If so, you need drivers installed for any USB device before you fit it & expect it to work. If by some miracle Windows was able to find the driver for it while setting up all the other drivers during a windows system install, I am surprised it even worked then? Perhaps you supplied it the setup disk that came with the router back then, but forgot doing so.

Really, you need to go get the disk for the modem if it is USB, or go to the company's web site & download the USB drivers specific to your modem.

At this point, others may be asking, when did DRuG become the internet's helpdesk? As a clan of pretty advanced technical people, this is not what we are all here to do.

It usually installs the drivers on the modem disk at the end but I can't get to the end because it can't detect a network card in the step before the completion.

No help for you.

Dude, seriously, you're burning me... this aint a support forums... and I don't wanna come home and do more support... especially for someone that won't take the time to address the questions of over 5 people that have tried to help.

Simple. I don't know how to do the stuff they told me to do so I just came up with a response.

Is that right? Just fill in the blanks? A poke-and-hope solution?

If in fact that is the case-er-roo, we can't help you. When you don't
know how to do something, ask. People have spent their valuable time
trying to help you. Just because you don't know how to do it does not
mean you need to move onto the next solution. After reading the whole
topic, I see that there is a high possibility a solution has already been
provided. Here's bunch of places designed to help:

clicky

I'm closing your topic. This isn't the support forum for GTAonline mods,
as Nikt has clearly stated. We are not Microsoft and we are not your
network card/modem/internet service provider.

Feel free to seek help and support with [DRuG] and [DRuG] affiliates
modifications, join in on usual banter, or otherwise try to mesh in,
but your personal hardware issues are not our concern. Only [DRuG]
members and leaders may further the discussion here. PM me if you
have any questions (regarding the closing of your topic, not your
hardware malfunctions).

If you are really at such a loss in the configuration of your
hardware, I assure you the google query linked above will
set you on your way.
