Don't use Kaspersky, use CA. When I gave Kaspersky a go the only thing I could find it doing was deleting files which had viruses on them. Then it deleted a critical system file and XP was dead. I had to reinstall it again.

Yeh done...

And Dragon - seriously dude... I can't even be bothered listing how many ways that's wrong.

Try, when it asks, not deleting an infected system file, or funnier still, curing it without first killing the operating system??

This is usually the outcome of a serious viral infection, if you truly get to removing all of the infection, and is still required if you plan to keep all your data, even if you do reinstall windows - or the new copy will likely get infected pretty quick, too... if you don't disinfect the files... what precisely, are you going to do with the av program? Most system files are very rigid in their allowance for modification - sure, a virus can edit them, but if just about anything else tries, they're gonna break.

And finally, Dragon, if you don't wanna be pissing me off on something I seem pretty clear on, perhaps don't negate what I suggest.

Also, I hope you're not using Internet Explorer Dragon... IE is sure a quick way to get your computer infected. I use FireFox with the addons NoScript and AdBlock Plus.

OK, I guess your the one who uses it more than me [DRuG]NikT. Maybe I just haven't been around all the corners of it. Sorry about that dude.

[DRuG]Killfrenzy, I haven't experienced an issue with IE7 yet and probably won't. I use it for the convenience and I can't be bothered downloading Firefox, installing it and uninstalling IE7.

I use CA internet security and Regcure to protect my computer and laptop.

Was the only reason you used Netscape was because it was an ad at the bottom of the forums?

Well, Netscape was the alternative to Firefox when it had the logon problem. Firefox 2.0.0.12 fixes this problem, but what can I say? They both run on the same core :)
