phpBB arcade games with forum registered ladders & statistic

Well I have to say that's one of the most complex installations I've ever attempted - and for arcade games!?

Well the phpBB Arcade 0.6.7 is kinda meant for RC1 of phpBB, but is documented to work for RC4.. with the minor issue of having to rename some of the database tables, recreate some of the php into every skin installed on the board, manually add the arcade links into each skin, then install each game individually.. not to mention changing permissions manually on a lot of the folders, plus guessing correctly to move the install php to an undocumented folder before trying to run it, oh man, there was even more crap too but I'm over going thru it again just to explain...

Aaanyway, there are now a stack of games being installed into that new link you will see up top - Arcade.. if you add any games as favourites by clicking the stars, they will also appear in a favourites manager in your user control panel. Only issue so far has been with the 'toxic' series of styles - they wont show the 'Arcade' link in the control bar.. so switch to another theme or...

Refresh the arcade regularly... I'm playing each game as I install them (all) - and there's a lot, so I'll probably be doing it for around a week.

I'm being pretty strict when it comes to games that aren't directly compatible/working without errors, since there's so many games, I'm only installing ones that report the high score back to phpBB such that it can store game statistics/ladder information.

I'll keep an eye out for a phpBB highscore compatible build of curveball - the collection available is akin to that of games for MAME, meaning, there's more titles than you could ever imagine... hopefully a phpBB version of that, and this aussie drifting game that I really wanted - but if it's not going to pass any info into the board's stats, I'm resisting the urge.

Hmm... would camper strike be possible? It includes high scores, but I'm not sure if it would work with what you're doing. Heres one of the links:

That one does appear to send stats back to their board, but not ours... I guess the key here is, the games need to be designed specifically to work with phpAR 0.6.7 - this is the module of phpBB we are using - the latest - and it has a selection of games available on the phpAR home page, via their phpBB forums.

I am going through the games in order of newest to oldest, then I will keep an eye on new ones that emerge, and install them all so long as they report a high score back to phpBB so it can list the game stats and high scores.... without errors - some of them have badly formed sql, which cause errors when they attempt to report back - these ones don't get installed either - I want this to be a clean, fully working system without games that peepz get to the end of working up a high score on, only to find it isn't going to be reported back to the forums - that'd just be annoying.

Grish: Curveball was there, works with phpBB, and installed...

All the games at phpAR's page I mentioned in my previous post are now installed.. there's a grand total of 47.

I haven't dug very deep looking for more, but I know there are more out there.. if anyone knows links to collections/games specifically for phpAR, post up the url please.
