OK, I've taken a break for the night, I have some IRL shit to sort - I leave for Queensland around lunch tomorrow.

*edit* well whaddayaknow... changed the mapped external web resources link to the resourcecache folder, not the resources folder, and it's all working now.

In the process I have moved to a 24/7 windows server I have on my network... address is all the same, just a change in my router.

The new server is 2.2GHz AMD64 with 1GHz of RAM, and it's always on, but rarely used now I have a laptop, so welcome to the new game server folks.

For some odd reason there are a couple of servers that just don't let me in when I'm playing MTA:DM, and The DRuG server is one of them, any reason for this?

They're all a problem with the server not being set up properly. In time, the servers will become set up properly. The DRuG server is good now

Sadly it still does not work for me, on join it is a black screen, will sit there for awhile then It will disconnect me saying the connection with the server was lost...

Ah well hopefully I'll be able to join one day.

When I return to Melbourne (in surfers paradise at the mo), I will spend a little more time configuring and testing things... since it was all set up the night before I left, my experimentation was relatively minimal.

The short story is, I tried the linux server (debian and generic) but neither worked with the votemap function - it was reporting errors that config. wasn't fixing. So I moved to the Windows server, set it up, made sure the votemap was cycling properly, then tested it a bit, then left for Queensland... I have remote access to the server, but I don't really wanna be doing too much to it since I can't physically touch the box if something goes pear shaped.

So at the end of this week, expect me to spend a little more time on it, but at this stage, it's gonna have to remain pretty standard config until my return.

Might see you on there too - I have 24/7 broadband in the room, so I am still contactable via IM etc.

If you join any servers with a black screen and it just stays like that, try typing /votemode
It's probably because the server was just up and a mode hasn't loaded yet.

in here there is a fix to have both DM and Race installed without reinstalling all the time, I have tested it and it works, make sure you copy your SA directory somewhere else so you run DM from 1 and Race from the other.
