Earth Hour begins on the Gold Coast

Earth Hour, where everyone is meant to turn their lights off from 8 to 9pm tonight world wide, as an environmental statement, has been happening annually for 2 years now.. more info at http://www.earthhour.org/

You'll see overhead footage on the news tomorrow and most of tonight, showing cities one by one.. the more people that do it the better ya city looks, so if it aint 8pm there yet, get it done, peoples.

Almost nobody in Gold Coast has done it, there wasnt much marketting of it up here eh, was heaps in Melbourne.

Well our lights are off.

Christchurch did this, but I don't really see how it will be of any benefit. We actually used more power then usual from 8-9...

as for earth hour its rather ironic really, considering as a replacement people used gas etc, burning fossil fuels which were more harmful then the means used to create most energy...in NZ anyway

Well we had ours here in Brisbane on Saturday. Wasn't too bad since I still got my MTA time in that period of one hour.
