A few people have been asking about why I've not been so active over the last few days - I have a mofo head cold, so have spent a lot of time home sick, but in bed, asleep.

I remember when I had a cold, I slept for 14 hours that time in a day.

Sleep, water and medicine are the basics. When I grow up I want to become a doctor like my Grandpa.

Being a Doctor was my dream as a child - I grew up to be too lazy, but when sharing this with a Doctor whose server I was working on, he asked about how many years it took to develop the sort of skills required to be a consultant/system administrator.. I thought about it and then said with amazement, about 7 years, but then active practice for the rest of your life to really have it sussed.. he just smiled back with a knowing nod.

"Just fixing different beasts, really", he said.

That made me feel good.. but if I was in some third world country, I know I'd prefer to meet your uncle the Doctor than some smelly server geek.

My Grandpa isn't one of those doctors that give out medicine and stuff, even though he's pretty good in all the different areas of being a doctor. He's mainly a neurosurgeon, which is a specialist in the mind.

When is comes to "doctors" he is quite famous. He's been on TV and the news quite often as well.

I hope to be his shadow.

look luck with that NikT. I had a cold/migrane and I still have to come into work cause I'm still slightly rational, only when I'm out cold or something then I don't have to come into work.
