Recording in MTA

Postby Android on Sun Feb 17, 2008 10:38 am

Hey all,

Do any of you guys know any good recording programs/commands for MTA?

I had this wild idea to make a Music-Video using MTA. :D

(Go to youtube and search Halo HMV and you'll see what I mean.)

But I don't have any good recording programs. :(

Would be really fun if alot of people joined especially with scenes that have to have alot of people like The Sweet - Ballroom Blitz where we need like 6-10 people bashing the sh!t out of eachother.

Need all the help I can get. :geek:

If any of you guys want to help or join in the action of the video PM me or contact me on Rockinandroid@hotmail(DOT)com

Later.

Video Avatar allows you to crop and output to gif, there's a cracked version out there.. VidCrop is it's big brother, allows output to other formats like avi etc.. advantage of cropping is you're not forced to use the full frame all the time. Trouble with VidCrop is I can't find a cracked version.

Adobe Premier is a pro video editing tool, but it has a learning curve, and involves a company that just buy everything, so would probably involve selling your soul to buy it.

Found that in the helpme file in Fraps, still trying to figure out how to use it, but i'm gonna use all the vidcropers that people have posted and see which one i can use better

*edit*

Well ive tried Vidcrop and its SHITHOUSE. Reason: The stupid label ruins the video :(.

seems Virtualdub is better (at least it dosnt need a bought version -_-) but im still trying to figure out how to make the video have less res to make it smaller (the smallest i got it to was 4.24mb)

and yes i have been reading the helpme files and it dosnt explain how to decrease it.

I'd reccomend:
- Xvid video compression (Lower Quantizer means higher quality)
- Lame MP3 audio compression at 128kbps or 64kbps

You may have to download K-Lite Codec Pack FULL with installation type 'lots of stuff' to get these encoders.

Try this to resize:
Video > Filters... > Add... > resize

Experiment with that resize filter.

The ones I was recommending require you applying a very persistent and risky approach of finding a crack for the version you download.. it's not always possible.. but they're really perfect for making video avatars in one sweep of about 5 clicks.. Don't get me wrong, I've used VirtualDub for years... http://nikt.zog.net.au/DVD.html is my oldschool method for ripping vids.. but even still, vidcrop and video avatar are great little purpose built applications that speed up a sometimes fiddly task.
