Christmas planz

Hi folks,

Thought it would be a good idea for a thread to post what people are planning to do over Christmas and the new year this year.. would be great to hear what everyone is doing.

Well, I'm off work until the 14th of Jan. - I took a short holiday this Christmas to save some days for later in the year.

For Christmas I spent the morning @ Zen's folks, then the afternoon @ my sisters - played matchbox cars all afternoon with my nephew... that's right, I'm an uncle.

For Christmas I got a BBQ from my parents.. I already had one, but use it very heavily, so it was in need of an upgrade.

OK, so between now and the 4th of Jan, there aren't any major plans.

At this stage, nothing for new years but an open ear... Duncan is in Thailand, so he won't be 'round, but generally with New Years, nothing is planned pretty much until the night, so I tend to play it by ear.

Jan 4th we're in Brisbane to see the Andy Warhol exhibition @ night, which is a special presentation of Andy's shtuffs with food & music @ the state gallery. We're staying in a pretty plush room at the Sofitel, so that should be fun.

Jan 5th - 8th Zen & I will be in Surfers Paradise, staying at the Vibe, which is about a block up from the river end of Caville Avenue in the fashion/nightclub precinct. It would be great to catch up with any QLD based DRuG members if you happen to be in the area... we have a top notch room, too.

Then it's pretty much chillin until I'm back to work. On my return, I start on a new (higher) wage - I got a promotion towards the end of this year to Technical Specialist.. that all starts when I return.. so if I appear a little frazzled for the next 6 months, this is a new position with new responsibilities, including a lot of travel.. so from here in, you may see me connect from a lot of different hotel's broadband - Vibe has broadband in the room & I have a gaming laptop, so if you're looking for me while I'm up there, either MSN me or PM the forums.. I'll be monitoring them for messages.

but I get no break, i'll be working.

Yeah I had christmas day and boxing day off, where I stayed at a relatives place, with a pool, spa, motorbikes etc. then work, get new years eve and day off, which = big party, then it'll be work again for the rest of my "holidays".

I'm staying in China for 6 weeks at my Grandparents'. I've already gotten a phone and an 8GB memory stick thanks to them!

I spent christmas day with my family and will probably do the same on new years eve.
Also I'll be celebrating my 1 year wedding anniversary on new years eve

Had Christmas w/ family - big lunch and dinner

Boxing day - worked at David Jones in Sydney City, though i dont usually work in the City store

NYE - going out w/ friends for drinks and to watch the fireworks

after that its the usual mix of work and going out, until uni starts again in March. I might get a new notebook b4 uni starts next yr.

Ah wow! Davo works @ David Jones?

My parents are both DJ's employees @ Southland in Melbourne - they decided to both start doing it leading up to retirement so they get to work together... I hope I enjoy my partner's time as much @ that age for this to be an option... impressive.
