Lag on the Server...?

in the last 48 hours....
something weird has happened to the DRuG server for me, i only get 20fps as opposed to 60.
are there any changes you made recently that could have caused this?
or should i just empty my resources folder and try again?

I've changed the speedo to a different one.

One guy with a slow system in the comments on the release page was reporting frame rate issues with it, too.

So far for me it hadn't produced any problems. Perhaps try updating your graphics card drivers and let me know if yours persist.

Okay, well i took your advice
(it was about time to update my drivers..... i was on FW93.91 - now 175.19)

Although, that did not fix the problem, still getting about 20fps...
other servers work fine....

BTW - running a GF5600XT...

Just realised that i can de-activate the speedo by pressing F3 and unticking that box, whew, back to 60fps.

It gets even worse when in a flying vehicle, like the vortex, as theres 2 dials, a speedo and an altimeter?

with both of those onscreen it went down to 10-15fps....
with only the speedo onscreen it gets down to 20-30fps...

So, in conclusion,
if the speedo's mess with ya FPS (its a rhyme!!!)
press f3 and disable it.....

EDIT [RW]Tu_Madre was having the same problem, so i told him to deactivate the speedo and it fixed it. /EDIT

This could potentially drive people away from the server if their comps are slow, coz they might not know how to turn it off - or might not wait long enough to. just a thought.

Yeh, I'm thinking I might revert to the one we had.. such a shame coz it looks so good when it works right... damn.... <time passes> OK, we're back on the previous speedo we were using.

yah, it is a shame, the new one was cool looking and very customizable, but.... better this way i guess...

Yeh thanks for letting us know.. I was kinda waiting for it because I'd seen similar comments in the release log - I was hoping it was isolated to the individual reporting it.
