There's constructive (and respectful) ways to feed this back to me.

This isn't one of them.. but I shouldn't need to be explaining this.

Today I'll look at returning the points to linear. With how quiet it's been, the amount of points being given out (a lot more than usual), now is a better time than ever to be clocking up stats.. we'll be adding a new 10 point award for winning and returning to a non linear points system.

I don't mind swearing - I don't mind a lotta things guys... but please, try & keep it respectful to me & my server please eh? I only ask for what I put out there myself, yeh?

Nah dude we're all good, I've added 10 points for winning and adjusted the points awarded such that they're more linear.. that is, the order of places will get points in the expected ratio now.

After closer examination of the way the alw server behaves, they have resources awarding points for things we can't be enabling without totally changing the server - adding pickups, drift counters etc. As much as I like these things, it's not with the "minimal" ethos I'm trying to follow here @ DRuG - my goal is to have a mode where lower specced machines and the players on them still get a chance to have some fun.

With that in mind, I've accepted my attempts to try and match points systems with alw just won't work.. I guess the easiest way to compare the two in an aggregated ladder is via the amount of wins and the records set.

Thanks for your patience while I've been experimenting here, folks - consider it part of trying to keep the server interesting, it's necessary to find new cool things - and I did pick a quiet time to do it, but we should be back to something approximating DRuG's normal points structure now, though a little more generous.

Feel free to let me know your thoughts here.. I'll do my best to not be all precious about how things are... I'm just trying to make it the best it can be for you guys.
