Both DRuG and AGS MTA servers have been updated to 1.0.4, records transferred and all resources and scripts ported across successfully. The frame rate in 1.0.4 seems a lot steadier than the previous release.

The external http resource server function within MTA hasn't worked for me in the past.. every time I turn it on, people would complain of timeouts, often I would experience them myself.

Now in 1.0.4, it seems a lot of work has been done to allow external web servers to host resources for the server, thereby taking some of the load off, allowing the server to focus on synching players.

DRuG and AGS servers now receive their resources from the www.aussiegameserver.com apache web server. I have reduced the packet size for the transfers from 64 down to 8, as documented in the new 1.0.4 mtaserver.conf for use with Apache.

The result has been we now have an MTA server with 10 people in it, and it's been getting over 15.. all in the hour since setting up an external web server with a folder hosting the resources, then configuring the MTA server accordingly. The resources absolutely fly in, as apposed to when they were served directly from mta - they used to crawl.

An added bonus is that my home line is now using around 100k/sec upload instead of 800k/sec.. a big difference should be seen in my cap.. the bulk of the data now comes out of the ags web server.

Just updated the resource pack and server to 1.0.4-r8b2033 with resource pack r652, which includes new race resource, new split time display, a whole new scheme of vehicle and text colours by me and all the existing resources that we've grown to love.

Let me know if anything is wrong, but I think the transition has been pretty smooth.

Just added fps_stats to replace fps.. this resource offers a graph showing your fps over time, situated just above the map name, below the radar. It also adds fps and average fps columns to the scoreboard.

Have also just upated the AGS USA server to the same resource set as the DRuG server and installed the r8b2033 binaries.

I'm midway thru updating the mta server to 1.0.5 r4b2702 - it's running on a separate set of ports with a password, but may still affect performance as I upload http resources etc.

Hopefully this update fixes the issue with random "network trouble" repositioning everyone in the race.. that was a new feature, it seems, with 1.0.5 on the build we're currently running.

More info as it progresses to being ready to replace the current server.

Nah that's the next step - faster cpu for the server :evilgrin: I have a quad core with 4gb ram just sitting there - but it needs a psu.. then it replaces the current dual core server with 2gb ram.

Just updated -]alw[-AcidbRain's stats resources & we've networked with their stats engine. To make the merge more harmonious, we've standardized on a scoring amount, so there's been some minor changes to the scores given per race,

When viewing the stats over @ alw's web, you can view each individual server, or see them separately.

Due to the way the stats synch works over http, the entire database isn't synched - a player's stats are carried across, however, when they first score a point on server since the change... then all their stats are visible @ alw.

Check out these stats pages over @ -]alw[-'s web - soon, I'm sure, we'll incorporate a version within the game server list block here @ DRuG:

Also just added a player resolution column to the scoreboard thanks to some code by AcidbRain on -]alw[-'s forums - handy for comparing to fps.
