Very nice, but you should change one of those names to Back Stabber :P

So very, very true - however, we are running a few of "his" resources, though it appears most of them are reworkings of mods developed by others on the mta forums, then packaged and released by him.

Personally, I would have gone for offering to show the original author how to publish his mods on the community site, such that they can release further mods, rather than putting them up under my own name and making fine print that credits the original author.

OK, lots of tweaks over the last 24 hours to the DRuG and AGS mtadm 1.0 servers.. I've begun learning .lua

First up, a funny chain of information.. I ask [SiK]Demiveil if there's any way I could learn how he removed "revote" from the voting system on the SiK server.. he then shows me the area of code to remove, I do, then find from [SiK]Demonseed that he learnt how to remove it from [DRuG]Dabombber, and told [SiK]Demiveil. Isn't it cute when things go full circle/loopy like that?

I spent about 8 hours moving between photoshop and game, testing then retweaking some images I've cooked up to kinda give the AGS and DRuG servers their own individual feels.. if anyone in DRuG or AGS wants to assume management of the AGS MTADM server, and take it more in the direction of DM, please, be my guest - I'll give you any help you need. The images used on each were by no means final, just my re-usage of some of the forum graphics and matching fonts.. I welcome any new images anyone wants to sumbit.

Next, I installed a GUI based help system with popup menus, where I will be maintaining a list of the tested and working commands available both as defaults, and those introduced though the various mods we've been installing. This is available in game by clicking the (!) and (?) icons alongside the chat box. This resource has been tuned by me to adjust the graphics, icon size and popup position.

Then I installed the vehicle lights mod, adding extra functions for drug lights and to allow for more was relatively simple - I seem to be getting my head around lua pretty quickly.

Finally, I tuned the race speed and health indicators.. in a moment of clarity it occurred to me that the background image should really be a kind of gradiented red to infer loss of health.. looks a lot nicer too, if I do say so myself.. to top it off I then set the background for speed as a black gradient and also tweaked the black outlines so the colour fades between grey and black - it's small touches like these I reckon you get rewarded for every time you look at the game.
Stay tuned for more as I install stuff.. I will be keeping the list in the first post maintained as I do it.

Last 12 hours I have developed a new .lua resource called colour, based on colorlights by eXo|SpeedY - I am currently awaiting his approval for release.. changes were listed in the permission request, as follows:

request for permission sent to eXo|SpeedY on http://exoclan.gr00ve.de wrote:Hi Speedy!

I downloaded your colorlights.zip mtadm 1.0 mod from community.mtasa.com.

We run 3 dm 1.0 race servers, so I have added lots more .lua - made a new mod from it, called "colour" - which manages the "Timer" threads better - cleans them up as the player leaves. It works between rounds, re-checking the player vehicle and re-applying the lights after map changes. It also sets car colours, using:

/lights x y z a b c d
/disco
/discocar
/drug

All toggles work on each other, so /drug can disable /lights.

I have added support for daytime lights, using the lightsoverride function, also added randomizing car colours, like the lights, using /discocar.

The help menus give you full credit for the original mod.. I wish to re-release this with your approval? I have attached it for your testing, it is also available on MTADM servers: DRuG 1.0 Race (linux), AGS 1.0 (linux) and DRuG test.

Could you please confirm I have your permission?

Respect!

NikT

The command is in fact /colour, but SMF private messages don't allow you to edit after sending - another good reason to use phpBB.

Stay tuned for release - hopefully I get a response shortly. 8-)

NikT on http://community.mtasa.com wrote:Colour by [DRuG]NikT - http://forums.drugcrew.com

Based on Colorlights by eXo|SpeedY http://exoclan.gr00ve.de

Released with full permission from Speedy - thanks mate!
___________________________________________________________

Commands:

/colour 0-255 0-255 0-255 0-126 0-126 0-126 0-126

eg. For aqua headlights and a black car..
/colour 0 142 102 0 0 0 0

- the first 3 are the light's RGB, then the 4 GTA car colours
- only the first two are used by most cars
- blank fields become a random colour

/colour - Toggle random light and car colours
/drug - Purple Lights (102, 51, 255) black/pink/white/purple car
/disco - Lights randomly change colour on black/white car
/discocar - Lights and car colour change rapidly like KWOW.
___________________________________________________________

Background:
With full permission from Speedy, I have taken his colorlights v2.5 mod and added lots more code.

This new mod from it, called "colour", manages the "Timer" threads better - cleans them up as the player leaves.

The only time errors now appear in the console is when switching between race rounds and when a player is dead awaiting respawn.. I am sure there's some kind of check I will eventually find to remove these errors, too.. but at this stage, it's still cleaner than it was.

It works between rounds, re-checking the player vehicle and re-applying the lights after map changes. All toggles work on each other, so /drug can disable /colour etc.

I have added support for daytime lights, using the lightsoverride function, also added randomizing car colours, like the lights, using /discocar.

Enjoy!

Server just updated to 1.0.3 - all resources carried across nicely - I've set up AGS too, both are happily accepting players - please let me know if you spot any problems.

Just added new sound for when you finish a race.. it's about the same size & still from San Andreas.

The start of James Brown - Funky President.

Modified the race complete tune to "You're the best" from the end of Karate Kid

Also just updated the speedo on both the AGS and DRuG servers, the new one is pretty awesome - dxspeedometer by driver2, has altimeter and odometer that both work and remember the data. Lots of in game menus to tweak your personal preferences on the colour etc., too.
