I am not an ordinary alchemist
The cycle of life only goes one direction, not even alchemy can change that.
It's been a good while since I've killed anyone, I kinda miss it. Ya wanna watch?

Cool - I had a moment of concern there until I checked the permissions and found that by default only admins are allowed to view the page.. I adjusted it so any registered user can view it and she works-a :D

Just updated the forums to 3.0.8, also fixed the cookie settings finally - this means logging in and out of the ACP should work properly now... let me know if you find any problems... including being able to get in there when you shouldn't!

If anyone has seen the link to the admin control panel at the bottom in the past, and feels they shouldn't have, are they able to confirm for me that they cannot see it/access it now?

*edit* it seems people can get into the general tab, which just shows the version info.. but it wont let them see all the settings etc. unless they are an admin.

*edit 2* turns out registered users had access to one area of the admin control panel - i've removed that and now it doesn't show the link down the bottom for anyone but the administrators group.

Again, any problems let me know.

Just updated to phpBB 3.0.9 ... this forums has the following update history:

- fresh install of 3.0.4 13.12.08 that housed the databases for what was originally phpBB3 RC4 back in 2007
(I'm not doing the history before that but it's all viewable longhand on this thread)
- updated to 3.0.5 6.6.09
- updated to 3.0.6 17.11.09
- updated to 3.0.7 6.3.10
- updated to 3.0.8 19.11.10
- updated to 3.0.9 10.8.11

Once again everything went smoothly, no data lost - let me know if you spot any problems. :geek:

Minor fixes (mostly in the screen you see when you click somebody's name & alongside posts):
- profile icons for xbox live set up for new livecard host (old one went offline)
- icon size for xfire had broken over time/wasn't rendering correctly in Chrome.. updated & fixed.
- xfire card overlapped right column depending how many fields populated - used smaller card.
- Thumbnail preview of people's websites updated in user profile to suit new requirements of shrinktheweb
- MSNM/WLM, YIM, AIM, ICQ & Jabber used to show live status information, which the hosts continue to change too much, so I've disabled it - just the contact name is now shown.
- Added a Steam field - with JC2MP I guess steam is more relevant
- Added a Steam gamecard to display within user profile
- Removed a broken "Arcade" area within user control panel thanks to [DRuG]Grish for spotting it
- Removed a bug where the "IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS" posts on the front page of the User Control panel were too wide when moused over

Any "quirks" like that you see, feel free to pm me - I can usually fix them... this system has been up for so long now it's to be expected that some things will need a bit of a polish.

Well it's only 2 weeks later and the xbox live and steam card providers I chose are already offline.

I've just updated them to use 2 new ones.

This is for the profile page of each user.. which is supposed to dynamically display the cards for each user... assuming the host doesn't go offline, which they seem to be at a very fast rate..
