Well it's been a busy day working on phpBB.. I have just updated from RC4 to the latest, RC5.. if anyone notices any errors, naturally, let me know.

Grish's skin was tricky to install, but I think I understand how the imagesets and other elements tie together a little better now, so it should be easy adding/tweaking from here in.

The default theme is now DRuG'd up... I took the aweful light purple, and converted it to this dark purple.

I have also edited the style sheet, to lose the dodgy purple from that one too.

If anyone wants to tweak the colours of any of the others, do so and send them to me so I can install.

Just added a new feature - Country Flags 0.8.0 - subtle changes.. everywhere.. was reallly trikky to install.. lots of steps, "88 minutes, hard" according to MOD studio... then there was the mission of adapting it to the skins.. not so fun but good learning..

It looks particularly awesome in the Members section.

It's currently incorporated into prosilver, subsilver2, the SimpleDark series & Grish's theme. I'm ditching the rest - there's just too many to maintain.

Although only new users can edit their flags at this stage, there is a section in the admin control panel where I can change it. I'm happier with it being this way, as it allows me to maintain the countries, so ppl don't change them all the time.

As you will see, I plan to install a lot of modules into these forums. The newest is AJAX Chat 2.0.0 Beta. You'll find you don't need to reload, it will auto-refresh.. it's up near arcade in the menu bar.

Well I've added forum icons, changed the topic icons to match the dark colour scheme, and now I'm just going over the board enabling a lot of the built in stuff I had missed.

Soon you will see rankings introduced which will mean more information next to each post. I'll add info here as I introduce things.

OK, so thanks to a few hours screwing around in photoshop, we now have stacks of rankings, topic icons and other tweaks to the site. The rankings are done, and I'm still looking over everything to find stuff I haven't configured to it's full potential.. but the changes from today should be fairly visible all over the place.

OK, I've been going through this thread trying to establish a master list of the modules we have so far, what version, and a link to their dev threads so we can monitor for updates.

So far, I've noted lastRSS isn't linked properly here, nor is the arcade room noted and linked here, so I'm going to maintain the master list in the first post on this thread.. that way we won't need to comb the site each time we wanna chek for updates. Country flags has one to make the install instructions match the RC5 update, but I managed to work it out anyway.. so no matter (it took me more than 88mins, I now realize it was the time spent sorting out the differences in RC5).

So chek the first post on this thread for the master list of updates applied on our forums beyond the standard phpbb3 release.

OK, I've introduced fixed width and a random banner - at this stage only to the default theme, SimpleDarkPurple, until I get feedback on if it's too narrow etc. *edit* it's now been set on all the SimpleDark series, including grish's reskin.

so folks, waddayathink? wide enuff?? I have set the max signature width to 500 now, and adjusted the size of Smallo & KillFrenzy's sigs - hope you don't mind guys, consider it better than me just removing them.

The pro/subsilver skins still have variable width, but I feel fixed works better with a banner.. let me know your opinions folks.

I've also fixed an issue in the lastRSS block, where the two DRuG feeds were getting stuck in the same linked list, after much screwing around, it seems the problem is obscured within one of the current news items in a feed, so I've turned the item limit on each feed down one notch to 4, and the problem has gone away. I'll try it back at 5 again when the posts all update/move a bit & I expect the problem will be resolved. (it was only happening in internet exploder, and who'd use that instead of firefox anyway, I guess - if you use IE - shame on you!)
