Networked Points System Explained

I know a lot of people have been asking about the new points being awarded, and what is awarded for what.

Now, the reasoning behind the new points comes from this base new feature - our stats are available on the -]alw[- forums, displayed mixed with the points awarded on their server.

Here's the trouble - their server was giving a lot more points out - so we've set ours the same... long term we may adjust what is awarded, but the goal is to give people that play less than our leaders a chance to catch up.

The wins, records and other stats, of course, remain as always.

Zero Points for a Win.......WTF!
You get 1 point just for starting the map but none if you Win..........Ludicrous!

If the server is empty (which it is quite often since the 1.1 change) and I play, I'm only gonna get 2 points unless I get a record top time. Thats not really an incentive to continue playing. Thats 5 times harder than before....

If you give 8pts / win, you can achieve the same result you had on the old server (10pts for winning a race).

You can remove the negative scoring when you die, as well as the single point you get when any other player dies.

So to recap:

Death: 0
Kill: 0
Opponent death: 0
Opponent points ratio: 10
Beaten opponent: 5
Race finish: 1
Race start: 1
Toptime: 50
Win: 8
Winning streak: 50

If you still want to go back to linear scoring, you only need to set "Opponent points ratio" to zero.
