MTA:DM Custom Models

Ok I have been working on some custom models for MTA:DM and i was messing around with NikTs Tardis model and have successfully gotten it to work. So here it is for download. It replaces the Sparrow. So if NikT adds it to the server it will be a simple just start the resource and then when your in a sparrow type /tardis and BLAM! you have a beautiful tardis :D Just did some Chatbox stuff and made a command im at work so i couldn't test it, lets hope it works :D

Hey that's a point - are we nearing another "talk like a pirate day"?

Smallo - That zip file, before I can release on the site, needs to be packaged with a readme, with just the main and data dirs in a separate zip inside the main archive, so people know how to install it if they're noobs. The resource zip should only have a data dir, not a tardis dir.

Let me know when that's available & I'll pop it on the site.

I suggest you don't put too many on and started at the same time since it will create workload on the server, and perhaps lag it as all the new clients joining must download it. You can also use an external http server to host the file's that the client needs to offload work from the main server to the web server.

You should also restore the original models upon unloading the resource. The custom models should be disabled during race, which has to be scripted to do so, since it can affect the game-play of the race.

well actually im just updating the code now and removing the need to type a cmd as it makes it all so confusing and not every can see it at once, also i crashed when i ended the resource so now im making it when it finishes to restore the original vehicle models.

Edit: ok here they are, so now u MUST type /unload when you dont want ur vehicle anymore or when you are ending the resource.

OK, all 3 vehicles are now installed... fantastic work Smallo - it is great that we now have a further opportunity to demonstrate our mods to the public... I've started all three resources, such that any race that now requests the AT400 will get John Travolta's Qantas 707.. the Shamal will now show as the blackbird and the sparrow will show as the tardis.

Thankyou again, Smallo.. I can't wait to see the Tardis and the Aircraft carrier!

Note - there was an error in the 747.zip resource - the 747.lua needs to be renamed to at400.lua - once i did this, it worked fine.

I have just re-worked your script, as an experiment, to replace the bullet with the HD bullet... it works perfectly, though the tail light textures will only work properly if people have the HQ lights Mod installed.. but thats a common one everyone should have, anyway - if you dont.. google and get it.. it makes a lot of mods look better.

Is it ok for me to have this resource running? I see it as, effectively, redistributing your mod, so though I should ask..

INFO:

This model is easy to use and can be used on any gamemode you like.
Please do not redistribute this mod without the original authors permission.

INSTALL:

1. Extract contents of DRuG-bullet.

2. Then go to your MTA San Andreas installation directory
(normally "C:\Program Files\MTA San Andreas") than to "\server\mods\deathmatch\resources"

3. Paste bullet.zip in here.

4. Start up your server.

5. Start up the resource by typing 'start bullet' in the console
or start the resource in the Admin Control Panel.

6. Find Yourself a Bullet and Enjoy!

ENDING RESOURCE:

1. To end the resource safely without creating any crashes just type /unload.

2. End the Resources

With all these models, I suggest you take a go at trying to get the client to download from an external http server rather than directly. Would save much lag in game where others are downloading from you :P
