Holden VL Commodore Berlina 1986
!VCM.XML!ef!DESC.TXT!0sf1986 Holden VL Commodore Berlina
--- my version 1.1 release---
This is my first ever attempt to build a car for Vice City and my first car built ever. It's my first time using a 3d modeling program to start something. Thank god for Zmodeler which I have used to learnt to create 3d objects.
It's a model of my car, the Legendary Holden Commodore VL Berlina series of 1986-1988. Although it can pass for any other VL Series with an exception for a Calais or Turbo.
About the Car:
This is my version 1.1 or version B release. It's a complete restructure/redesign of my previous effect and Yes... 3d rims added. It's still based on my standard Berlina but now with twice the polycount, much better looking, smoother, much better textures and glitches/breakup has been fixed.
I am now working on a performance-orient HDT version of the commodore. Release date will not be too long in the near future.
Some quick Notes:
Some of the texture files I have used are off the internet of someone else's car and some are mine. If it's yours, feel free to feel cool about it because I have used it to help create my creation or if you're really fuss about it, pop me an email and I will try to replace it with some other texture.
Well Here is the installation manual:
1. Texture And Car
Use IMG Tool to replace the 2 files:
oceanic.dff
oceanic.txd
2. Car Handling
Replace the oceanic line in the handling.cfg file in the data directory with the following line.
OCEANIC 1650.0 2.0 4.9 1.5 0.0 0.0 -0.05 75 0.85 0.80 0.51 5 165.0 22.0 F P 8.5 0.52 0 30.0 1.2 0.15 0.2 0.56 35000 0.27 -0.19 0.5 0.55 8002 0 1
(The handling is very much identical to a admiral handling but with oceanic engine sound.)
Feel free to replace any other 4-door car you fancy as long as you rename the 2 files.
3. Wheel size
Replace the oceanic line with the following in the default.ide file in the data directory. Note this version release requires Dmagic1 WheelMod to work properly.
197, oceanic, oceanic, car, OCEANIC, OCEANIC, null, normal, 10, 7, 0, 249, 1.0
Or easier yet, just change last 2 figures with 249, and 1.0 for wheel size.
4. Color
Replace the oceanic colors with the following in the carcols.dat:
oceanic, 1,85, 0,85, 14,85, 16,85, 50,85, 6,0, 22,85, 46,85
Note: Feel free to edit this car to your likings or what ever as long as you know what you are doing. You can edit, post it, finish it off or whatever as I feel the car deserve to get finished off. But still, some credit still gotta go to me as I attempted to create it as I thought nobody would. Feel free to drop me an email or send me your comments or update me with any mad modifications you have done to it.
Thats enough yapping from me for now...
Cheers
And Happy Driving!
Johnny
